DLA Piper advises TOMRA on acquisition of US assets from C&C Consolidated Holdings

01.10.2025

1 October 2025 – DLA Piper has advised TOMRA on the acquisition of all US assets from C&C Consolidated Holdings (C&C), LLC. The company through its subsidiaries provides a “bag drop” solution for beverage container collection and processing in the United States under the CLYNK brand.

The acquisition marks a strategic expansion of TOMRA’s footprint in North America and reinforces its commitment to delivering customer-friendly and forward-thinking recycling technologies. By integrating C&C’s bag drop capabilities into its existing operations, TOMRA aims to unlock operational efficiencies and accelerate its growth trajectory in the region.

TOMRA, publicly listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and headquartered in Asker, Norway, transforms how businesses and society obtain, use, and reuse the planet’s resources. Its advanced collection and sorting technologies support the transition to a circular economy, optimize resource use, and minimize waste across the food, recycling, and mining industries.

C&C works with retailers to provide convenient deposit refund systems and operates material recovery facilities for beverage container processing. Founded in 2006, the company primarily operates in the northeastern United States and has achieved annual revenue growth of over 15% between 2020 and 2024.

A cross-practice DLA Piper team co-led by corporate partners Dr Tim Arndt (New York) and Edmund Mokhtarian (Palo Alto) with support from TOMRA’s global client relationship partner Dr Benjamin Parameswaran (Hamburg) advised on the transaction. They were supported by associates Clara Knapp (San Diego) and Robert Fuller (Washington, DC) as well as DLA Piper colleagues from other practice groups.

In-house at TOMRA, Mickaël Fontaine (SVP and Head of Strategy, TOMRA Collection) and Camilla Steenfeldt-Foss (Strategy Manager, TOMRA Collection) as well as Henrik Klemetsen (Legal Counsel, TOMRA Group), Sebastian Ihlebæk (VP and Head of M&A, TOMRA Group) and Lars Enge (EVP, Head of Strategy, TOMRA Group) were involved in the transaction.
