Freshfields advises Rieter AG on acquisition of Barmag from OC Oerlikon

Global law firm Freshfields has advised Rieter AG, a leading supplier of manufacturing yarns from stable fibers, on its acquisition of Barmag from OC Oerlikon at an enterprise value of CHF 850m.

Barmag is a leading provider of filament spinning systems for the production of manmade fibers, as well as texturing machines, BCF systems, staple fiber spinning solutions, and nonwoven technologies. In addition, as an engineering services provider, Barmag delivers comprehensive solutions across the textile value chain. The strategic acquisition of Barmag will position Rieter AG as a leading supplier in the transformation of both natural and manmade fibers into yarn.
