Leading insolvency practitioner D.J. (Jan) Baker to serve as Global Co-Chair of Latham’s Insolvency Practice Group

New York, May 28, 2009…Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce that D.J. (Jan) Baker and Rosalie Gray have joined the firm’s New York office as partners in the Finance Department. The two insolvency specialists bring broad experience in representing companies in Chapter 11 and out-of-court proceedings, adding depth and expertise to Latham’s restructuring and bankruptcy practice, particularly on the debtor side.

In his more than 30 years of practice, Baker has handled numerous high-profile debtor representations and has also advised major financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Citigroup and Deutsche Bank. He joins Latham & Watkins as Global Co-Chair of the Insolvency Practice Group. The partners join Latham’s more than 100 strong insolvency group, 60 of whom practice in the U.S.
